COUPLE GET MARRIED UNDERWATER SURROUNDED BY SHARKS

A scuba-diving loving couple have tied the knot (let's hope it was a sheepshank) in a Jaws-dropping ceremony, which is said to be one of the first underwater weddings in the UK.

Lisa Huggins and Christopher Jackson, from Derbyshire, got married in the 864,000-litre tropical oceanarium at the Bear Grylls Adventure centre in Birmingham, which has plenty of canals, but perhaps isn't the first place you might think of when planning aquatic nuptials.

The pair said "I do" in front of eight guests (Shelby Overman was a no show until later), as well as less regular wedding guests, including blacktip reef sharks, puffer fish and stingrays.

The only great white in the tank was Lisa's wedding dress, which had weights sewn into the bottom of it so it didn't float up during the ceremony.

Touchingly, Lisa's 14-year-old daughter Elise , who is currently learning to scuba dive, was bridesmaid in the tank alongside them.

Speaking to the Press Association, Lisa said: “We trained to be scuba divers together so it’s sort of a journey that we started on together… so getting married was just another part of that journey for us, our diving journey.”

The Daily Jaws wishes the happy couple all the best for the future. Whether the newlyweds got drunk and fooled around that evening is not known.

This wasn't an of-fish-al ceremony, the couple legally got married at a register office.
