Interview: Misty Talley Director of 'Santa Jaws'
Like Christmas jumpers and a holiday roast, SANTA JAWS has become a part of Jawsmas with more and more fans finding the movie every Christmas.
Jaws The Revenge may have been the original Christmas shark movie, but this takes its influence from the likes of Gremlins, Home Alone and Stranger Things.
Ross from The Daily Jaws catches up with Santa Jaws director Misty Talley to learn more about her love for Jaws, some fascinating facts about low budget filmmaking - it was just shot in 12 days - the essential elements to a successful shark film, for any budding future Steven Spielberg's or Misty Talleys.
There's also a fascinating discussion about the need for practical effects, and how to use them best alongside digital effects, as well as Misty's pitch for a new Jaws movie!
Misty is no stranger to shark films though, as she also directed Mississippi River Sharks, Ozark Sharks and Shark Island. She was also editor on all of those SYFY films, and also had editing duties on Ghost Shark.
There's also an idea swimming around for Santa Jaws 2, but that will only happen if followers of The Daily Jaws get behind it and get in contact with SYFY to let them know that is the Christmas gift we want under our Ami-tree in 2021.
