JAWS poster gets a LEGO makeover for new exhibition

We all know the iconic JAWS poster, but now the classic film poster showing the great white shark rising to snatch the unsuspecting Chrissie Watkins has been redesigned in LEGO.

In forms part of an exhibition called Brick Flicks, which celebrates 40 memorable moments from the big screen in mini-LEGO form, one of those being the Roger Kastel-designed JAWS poster.

It follows hot on the heels of the announcement of a LEGO JAWS set, which will include the great white shark, the Orca and its crew in the form of Quint, Brody and Hooper. Catch our interview with the original designer.

Those amazing creations are part of a travelling exhibition, which include everything from Back To The Future E.T. - the Extra-Terrestrial, The Matrix, Die Hard, Rocky, The Terminator, Mary Poppins, The Usual Suspects, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Saturday Night Fever, The Godfather and Dirty Dancing are staged and photographed with appropriate lighting, and presented as if scenes from the films they are celebrating.

And it is these impressive framed images – emulating movie posters - that are on display at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum in Canton, Ohio until the end of September.

The joyous designs and memorable movie scenes were painstakingly created by Scottish-based LEGO artist Warren Elsmore.
