WILL JAWS PLAY 'THE SHARK IS BROKEN' TOUR? WE SPEAK WITH IAN SHAW

Are you going to tour the theatres?

It's the key question on the lips of every single Jaws fan, will The Shark Is Broken go on tour?

The Daily Jaws put that very question to Ian Shaw, the son of Jaws legend Robert Shaw, who not only plays his dad in the play, but also co-wrote the stunning production with Joseph Nixon.

This West End show about the making of Jaws, which also stars Demetri Goritsas and Liam Murray Scott, has been making waves since it opened back in October.

Not everyone who wants to see it has been able to make the journey to London, whether that's because it it too far away in the UK, or that Covid has kept them from attending. Or they may not even be in the UK.

Not one post about the show goes by without someone asking if it is going to go on the road, both across the UK, or further afield to the US or even Australia.

Clearly the audience is out there, but will the show go to the audience?

Speaking to The Daily Jaws, the world's number one Jaws fan-site, Ian said: "There is a huge amount of interest in a tour - I get a request or query practically every day. The moment it is decided, I will let The Daily Jaws know."

“Are you going to tour the theatres?”

That's not a yes...but it certainly isn't a no. Obviously the main priority and focus to the remaining London shows. However, the message is loud and clear from fans that there is a huge appetite for The Shark Is Broken to go on tour, and after an extended run, the Amity Island sunset will soon be setting on the show at The Ambassadors Theatre.

For now then, the only sure way to see the characters of Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider, stuck on board the Orca during the filming of Steven Spielberg's Jaws, is to catch it at The Ambassadors Theatre before February 13th.

But, at least Ian Shaw has given us a great white...hope the Orca and its crew could one day be docking in a theatre near you.
