SON OF JAWS LEGEND THANKS AUDIENCES FOR SUPPORTING VERY PERSONAL PROJECT
Quint may have destroyed the CB radio on board the Orca in Jaws, but thankfully he wasn't around to break the internet.
Ian Shaw, the son of Jaws actor Robert Shaw, took to Twitter to give thanks to all those that have supported The Shark Is Broken in the West End, the show about the behind the scenes going on during the making of Jaws, which is on at The Ambassadors Theatre until February 13th.
In it Ian Shaw stars as his dad, playing Quint, with Demetri Goritsas as Roy Scheider playing Brody and Liam Murray Scott playing Richard Dreyfuss dressed as Hooper. Shaw also co-wrote the stunning play, alongside Joseph Nixon.
And of course, it has been nothing if not a challenge for shows on the West End, returning in the time of Covid.
On his Twitter page, Ian wrote: Thank you to the audiences, past and future. The #WestEnd went dark in 2020. That was the first time since the Puritans banned theatre in the 17th C. When we stepped out to a full house in October 2021, it was an incredible feeling!
We were so grateful. Thank you for braving the elements and the variants, for wearing masks, for providing the electricity (in more ways than one). Without you, we are just rehearsing.
