Hooper from Jaws laughing at Quint's tattoo for 10 hours straight
Jaws is a funny film. From the classic one liners That’s some bad hat Harry” to 'Brody’s deadpan single word explanation as to why he’s afraid of water “Drowning”, there are plenty of laughs to be had. This is mainly down to Jaws screenwriter Carl Gottlieb who was brought on board by friend and director StevenSpielberg to ‘eviserate’ Peter Benchley’s original screenplay and make the characters genuinely worth rooting for.
All three of the main characters have their funny moments but it is Matt Hooper who becomes somewhat the movie’s comic relief - especially when it’s just the main trio at sea. Actor Richard Dreyfuss brought a youthful energy to Hooper, creating an unmistakable laugh that in part defines his character. A laugh that is at its most maniacal when laughing at his own joke, suggest Quint's removed tattoo was 'mother'.
To celebrate ‘World Laughter Day’ (celebrated on the first Sunday in May every year to raise awareness of laughter and its many healing benefits) we have created a 10 hour version of Hooper’s laugh at its most maniacal when he laughs at his own joke, suggest Quint's removed tattoo was 'mother'. Enjoy!
