The Shark Is Broken: The ultimate Broadway and New York experience guide

“Can you tell me if there's a good restaurant or hotel on the island?”

So says Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) not long after arriving on Amity Island in Steven Spielberg’s JAWS (1975), and now when you are planning your trip to Broadway to see the Olivier-nominated comedy The Shark Is Broken, about the behind the scenes making of JAWS, you’ll be asking pretty much the same questions.

New York, New York, so big they named it twice. Well, those proportions are correct, but remember Manhattan is only an island if you look at it from the water, so what more perfect place to catch the Broadway hit The Shark Is Broken, which is written by Ian Shaw – who is the son of JAWS actor Robert Shaw – and Joseph Nixon?

It stars Shaw as his dad – looking uncannily like his portrayal of Quint in the shark classic – with Alex Brightman as Richard Dreyfuss and Colin Donnell as Roy Scheider.

After seeing The Shark Is Broken you are going to want to feed like Bruce the shark, so you’re gonna need a better restaurant or bar and feel like an islander – don’t worry you don’t have to be born here – and check out this very special THE SHARK IS BROKEN partners list where you can make summer dollars savings on your holiday roast or pint of red wine…you might want to let that breath…never mind, never mind. Other food and drinks options are available.

And remember we’ll only tell you to walk straight ahead if it is ahead of you.
