Ten JAWS-some reasons to see 'The Shark Is Broken'

  1. Scheider, Shaw and Dreyfuss reunited…. kind of

    Often lauded as the greatest on-screen trio ever cast, Roy Scheider (Chief Brody). Robert Shaw (Quint) and Richard Dreyfuss (Matt Hooper) all made their characters unforgettable. The Shark Is Broken is a comedic exploration of the actor’s relationships and behind-the-scenes drama that took place during the filming of the 1975 shark classic JAWS.

2. Ian Shaw

Ian Shaw is the son of JAWS actor Robert Shaw (Quint). In The Shark Is Broken, Ian plays his long passed father during the makingof JAWS. Ian also co-wrote the play, basing the story on his late father’s drinking diaries and The Jaws Log by Carl Gottlieb.

The play is a deeply personal project for Ian, adding not just to the drama abut also the raw openess of this journey.

3. Alex Brightman

5. The Orca set

6. "Production used" barrel adds JAWS-thenticity to 'The Shark Is Broken'

As with all things JAWS, authenticity is super important and something hit Broadway play ‘The Shark Is Broken’ takes very seriously. But one detail you may not be aware of is a ‘production used’ barrel is stowed away on the Orca!

7. JAWS-inspired drinks

There’s even music from 1974 ahead of the show and sea sounds and a sea scape to really transport you to Martha’s Vineyard. But there’s more in the form of pre-show drinks, all with a suitably JAWS them. And even better, the names were all suggested by The Daily Jaws.
