AMAZING JAWS TATTOOS SHOW FAN’S LOVE FOR ICONIC FILM

Daniel Carver is originally from London, England, and has been a huge fan of Jaws since he was little.

He has been collecting memorabilia for decades, in 2021 that collecting took a new twist, as he starting collecting Jaws tattoos.

Daniel, who now lives in Spain – insert your own fair Spanish ladies joke here – said: “The Jaws tattoos are part of a full arm sleeve, which I have had planned for years. I was waiting to find the right artist to do it justice and spent years looking for someone I felt could do the portraits to the highest accuracy.

“Quint was the first, then the Chief with Hooper last month. They were done by Dor Stocker at Dor Stocker tattoo studio in Bexley, in the UK. He is a massive Jaws fan himself and we watch Jaws and chat all things Jaws when he tattoos me, which is great fun.”

They are on Daniel’s right arm, extending from his wrist to his shoulder and ranged from four to seven hours each to complete each portrait, with the Brody tattoo hurting the most.

Not that he can pick a favourite, as he loves them all equally for different reasons. And everyone who sees them – The Daily Jaws included – can’t help but fall in love with them either. And that includes Matt Hooper himself, as actor Richard Dreyfuss came face to face – well face to arm – with himself.

Daniel said: “Richard Dreyfuss has seen and liked the Hooper piece, and recently at The Shark Is Broken, the cast saw them. Ian Shaw said the artist had got his dad, Robert Shaw, just right.”

Not that Daniel is done just yet. He continued: “There will be a whole host more to add but it's a work in progress so I'm not sure yet who will be next. The Orca and other characters will be on there. Watch this space!”

He did confirm that there defiantly would be a Hoagie tattoo coming though, as he thinks Jaws 2 is the only sequel of merit.

Talking a bit more about how he first got into Jaws, Daniel said: “I have collected Jaws memorabilia since I was a kid and have hundreds of things, ranging from original posters and reproduction props to autographs from cast and crew.

“I first saw the film when I was about 7 or 8 and it set me on the road to being obsessed with sharks and Jaws. I hope to dive with sharks later this year.

“My favourite character is Quint. He brings everything from humour to sadness into the movie. The Indianapolis speech is a piece of cinematic brilliance.

“Thanks very much for getting in touch, The Daily Jaws is always my favourite online read so keep up the good work! Please could you give the tattooist a shout out on the article since it's his talent, I'm just the canvas.”
