ICONIC JAWS SHOT RECREATION IS LIKE SEEING DOUBLE

Quint, Hooper and Brody stood within the jaws of a great white shark.

It's one of the most famous and iconic promotional shots for Steven Spielberg's Jaws, when it was released in 1975.

Now that shot has been recreated, after almost 50 years, to promote The Shark Is Broken, the hit West End show about the making - and almost unmaking - of Jaws.

Stood in exactly the same spots as Robert Shaw, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss, we now have Ian Shaw, Demetri Goritsas and Liam Murray Scott.

And the costumes, lightning and likenesses are uncanny. Particularly Ian, but then the actor and co-writer of the play, written with Joseph Nixon, is the son of Robert Shaw.

That's not his only link with the classic shark thriller, as Ian even visited the set and got to meet Bruce the shark out of the water.

Dean Newman, head of content for The Daily Jaws, the world's number one Jaws fan site, said: "It just shows how much love and attention has gone into the show. The icing on the cake is when when you see and hear them bring their characters to life in a stunning recreation of Quint's boat, the Orca.

he Daily Jaws met The Shark Is Broken original cast back in 2019.

"Jaws will drop when people see it, it's like time travelling to Martha's Vineyard in 1974 when the film was being shot. The Shark Is Broken is the biggest thing to happen to Jaws since the film was released, it is a hugely important part of the Jaws legacy and is a must-see for any fan of the film."

You'll have to be quick to hitch a ride on the Orca though, as the show sails on its final performance at The Ambassadors Theatre on February 13th, 2022.
