Here’s two big JAWS dates in 2024 to mark on your The Daily Jaws calendar

It’s fitting that the first ever The Daily Jaws calendar covers the 12 months of 2024, as it is a pretty significant one for the book by Peter Benchley and the film by Steven Spielberg and JAWS fans are sure to want to mark them on their exclusive calendar…which you can’t buy anywhere else.

The first is five decades since the original book, by then first-time author Peter Benchley, first hit bookshelves in February 1974. Often eclipsed by the film of the same name the book was a juggernaut success when it came to book sales, staying on the New York Times bestseller list for an astonishing 44 weeks. It was only kept off the top spot by Watership Down, no less.

The second major moment for JAWS fans comes on May 2, as that is the first day that cameras began rolling on the Steven Spielberg film with scenes shot featuring Deputy Hendricks (Jeffrey Kramer) finding the remains of the first shark attack victim, Chrissie Watkins, on the beach, as well as Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) on the beach.
